Program 2008 Summer Day Camp The White Cloud Institute Snowflakes & Raindrops Program was conceived to honor the spirit of a pure open heart that each child holds within. It will transcend current cultural traditions and religious concepts, in order to embody the pure nature of each individual child allowing them to create meaning of their world, and to thereafter know how to create a world view. With love and respect for all life we will hold the door open wide and light the path for creative energy to flow. In this way we hope to nurture the true inner knowing of all children.  Goals Our goals for the children's program are to nurture an awareness of life which includes our energetic and spiritual nature, and enlivens our appreciation of the physical world. Bringing Play into Life and a non competitive spirit into the world. Program White Cloud Institute's Summer Day Camp will begin each morning within a circle of friends, learning to share in the moment our dreams, ideas, problems, questions, values, and inspirations in the safety of community. Tuning into our senses and body rhythms, we will transition to Meditation and Movement. Children will be taught simple Qigong and Tai Chi Fan exercises designed specifically for them. They will be encouraged to find within themselves those unique gifts of knowing and self healing. Our days will flow between the classroom and the outdoor park next to our school building. Art, Storytelling and Creative Expression will be part of our day; self created stories which honor our true selves and our higher virtues, and the art that is a part of nature and our human energy field. The Snowflakes and Raindrops will be taught ancient wisdom practices which utilize sound and color to heal emotions and physical discomforts. We will look to the elements which comprise our world and our bodies and generate new ways in which to relate to and celebrate the seasons and the rhythm of time. Our day will end with a quiet review and sharing of appreciation for each other and the beauty of the world in which we live. Teen Program 2008 Energy Medicine for Teens July 17-20, 2008 What is Energy? Learn about Chakras, Auras, Acupuncture Meridians, Acupressure, Mudras, Yoga, Qigong, Meditation, and foot reflexology. Spend the days learning how various cultures have used energy healing practices. This will be a fun and easy way to explore some new ideas. This 4 day workshop will be a combination of discussion, exploration and play. Instructors Caryn Boyd Diel, Founder of White Cloud Institute has for the past 30 ears given her time and heartfelt devotion to the empowerment and healing of others, especially to young people. She holds a Masters Degree in Education with a specialty in guidance and counseling. For many years she facilitated healing support groups for children of all ages, and taught as a Health Educator in the public schools of 3 states. Caryn has a passion for self discovery and play; essential elements for growing healthy minds and bodies. She teaches Qigong, Meditation and many other classes in healing, which are now adapted for children. Caryn has written a children’s coloring book on the Inner Smile and 6 Healing Sounds.
Cara Levick, Summer Camp Program Director is a student at the White Cloud Institute. A Natural Healer, she is studying Energy Medicine and Chi Nei Tsang. Cara will graduate this June with a certification in Energy Medicine. She is dedicated to the spiritual and mental growth of our youth, and excited to greet each new smile. She will be teaching Meditation.
